Welcome
to Ridiculous
Real Estate. If you are like most people, you've come
to the realization that thanks to the current real estate craze,
the only home you
can afford looks a little something like what you see here. But
don't get too comfy.
Given the right agent, neighborhood and
some paint, a little one bed room country like
dwelling such as this little fella could be way outta your
budget. This web site is dedicated to the all the ridiculous
real estate that is out there - that most of us end up
paying for. |
|
What exactly
is 'Ridiculous Real Estate'?
We believe that the phrase 'Ridiculous Real Estate'
refers to the current trend to over inflate the price of average to
below average looking homes. We also believe this phrase refers to
a mentality shared by both agents who want to secure their large commissions
and home owners who hope to make a huge profit by riding the real esate
bubble. So, in the hopes to line their pockets, they believe that a
little cosmetic updating can justify a $30,000 - $50,000 increase
to the fair
market values of their homes. And we all know that these are conservative
figures. There are some stats that show increases in the hundreds of
thousands and even millions in some areas of North America.
So What?? Everyone is riding the real estate bubble.
Why shouldn't I?
Go ahead and ride the bubble. All the power to you.
But for the love of Pete don't slap a huge price tag on a shack and
expect people to cash in their life savings to buy the heap of junk.
Don't drive up the prices so that the average person, with an
average job and wage, can't afford an average home anymore. That's
just plain greedy and it's plain ridiculous.

But thanks to such individuals,
a look through current MLS listings across North America can be very,
very entertaining. Coming
across a dump and looking at the price tag can often prompt questions
such as, 'You're asking what?', 'Getta outta here!', or my personal
favorite, 'As if!'. Fits of uncontrollable laughter often follow such
questions and as one puts these MLS rejects to the side, one notices
that the pile of rejects get bigger and bigger as the this real estate
bubble continues to expand.
So we thought it would be a great idea to highlight these MLS rejects
and share with others just how ridiculous real estate can get. We've
started our list here and invite you to send in examples of ridiculous
real estate in your neighborhood. We might not be able to control ridiculous
real estate prices, but we can sure laugh at them! Send your
ridiculous real estate to: rejects@ridiculousrealestate.com |
